Vivo Energy Mauritius launches carbon-neutral lubricants

Vivo Energy Mauritius, the company that markets and distributes Shell products, has announced the launch of Shell Helix Ultra carbon-neutral lubricant in the market. Shell Helix Ultra now has a zero carbon footprint due to emissions control at all stages: from the choice of raw materials through renewable energy sources for processing and transport to packaging.

“We are proud to make this lubricant available to our customers in Mauritius. This product perfectly fits our pioneering and responsible vision in the energy market. This is a further step we are taking towards a sustainable future and the construction of a greener Mauritius. Vivo Energy Mauritius is committed to completing this responsible approach. All gallons of Shell Helix Ultra lubricants collected at listed points will be recycled for use in the construction sector,” said Matthias de Larminat, Managing Director of Vivo Energy Mauritius.

For every empty gallon of Shell Helix Ultra returned by customers, a contribution of Rs 100 will be donated by Vivo Energy Mauritius to finance the construction of aquaponic farms in schools and NGOs to participate in the process of greater food self-sufficiency.

The Shell Helix Ultra Carbon Neutral was launched on World Earth Day on Friday, 22 April, in the presence of Environment Minister Kavy Ramano who said, “I would like to congratulate Vivo Energy Mauritius for its continued commitment to the fight against climate change and the protection of the environment. The promotion of Shell Helix Ultra Carbon Neutral aligns with the World Earth Day theme “Invest in our planet” and demonstrates Vivo Energy Mauritius’ efforts to achieve carbon neutrality. This year’s theme is a call to everyone; the public sector, private companies, and the public to invest in our planet’s better future.”
