Chevron and Petrol Ofisi enter into a lubricant production agreement
Chevron Lubricants and Petrol Ofisi; the marketers of lubricants in Turkey have entered into an agreement where Petrol Ofisi will produce and distribute Chevron lubricants in Turkey under the Texaco brand.
According to Petrol Ofisi, this agreement entails licensing, production, distribution and marketing of Chevron industrial and automotive lubricants which is expected to commence in 2021. Chevron and Petrol Ofisi have jointly started looking at the technology to be used in the production of the Texaco-branded lubricants and other necessary preparations.
Petrol Ofisi’s CEO Selim Sip said that this new agreement is a testament of Petrol Ofisi’s success in the lubricant market and the confidence Chevron has in Turkey. “We are leaders in the lubricants industry in Turkey with over 16,000 sale points, a technology centre; POTE and a lubricant blending plant in Derince. We, therefore, offer ideal solutions to our customers in Turkey. We will enrich this by availing Chevron products. Our long-term and wide-ranging cooperation with Chevron is in a sense a good indicator of Petrol Ofisi’s success in production, distribution and marketing in the field of lubricants as well as their confidence in the potential of our country.”
This partnership between the two companies is a continuation of their cooperation given that since 2014, Petrol Ofisi has been distributing and marketing Chevron’s maritime oil in Turkey. The success of this partnership is among the factors that have led to the realization of a bigger partnership, noted Petrol Ofisi in a press release.
“The first collaboration between Chevron and Petrol Ofisi goes back 70 years. This agreement marks the beginning of a new and important period,” said Colleen Cervantes, Head of Chevron Lubricants. She further added, “The strong synergy between Petrol Ofisi and Chevron will further develop this new brand expansion opportunity.”
Petrol Ofisi was founded in 1941 and it has been in the oil business since then.
