Arteco Launched ECO Coolants Product Line for Vehicles and Data Centres
Arteco, a liquid cooling solutions manufacturer, announced the launch of its ECO product line across its entire portfolio, including the Freecor product line for internal combustion engines and the Freecor EV product line of low electrical conductivity coolants (LECCs) developed specifically for new energy vehicles. The new range can deliver a significantly reduced Product Carbon Footprint (PCF).
Beyond automotive, the ECO portfolio also supports industrial and data centre applications underlying Arteco’s commitment to sustainable innovation in thermal management and cooling in the entire industry. Arteco’s Freecor and Freecor EV product lines are engineered for thermal performance and energy efficiency across diverse powertrain technologies. Arteco takes this innovation a step further by introducing an ECO version of these products.
“Our comprehensive life cycle assessment (LCA) studies show that the biggest environmental impact of our coolants comes from fossil-based raw materials at the start of the value chain,” explained Serge Lievens, Technology Manager at Arteco. “By rethinking those building blocks and incorporating renewable and/or recycled raw materials, we can offer products with significantly lower climate impact, without compromising on high quality and performance standards.”
Arteco’s ECO coolants incorporate base fluids derived from bio-based or recycled feedstocks, allocated through a certified mass balance approach. These base fluids, Monoethylene Glycol (MEG) or Monopropylene Glycol (MPG), are traditionally virgin-grade materials derived from fossil resources. The ECO products help decrease reliance on virgin fossil resources. To confirm the traceability and reliability of this process, Arteco has obtained the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) PLUS for its mass-balance approach to more sustainable resources. The benefits of our ECO coolants are demonstrated by a significantly lower Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) than traditional virgin fossil-based alternatives.
“At Arteco, we firmly believe the future of cooling must be sustainable,” concluded Alexandre Moireau, General Manager at Arteco. “Our ACT – Accelerate Change Together – sustainability strategy focuses on three key areas: climate action, smart use of resources, and care for people and communities. This new family of ECO coolants is a natural extension of that commitment. In fact, sustainability for us is a continuous journey, one where we keep researching, innovating, and collaborating to create better, cleaner cooling solutions.”
