Castrol opens a Technology Center in America

Castrol has opened its brand-new Castrol Americas Technology Center in Wayne, New Jersey. The new laboratory will develop and test engine and driveline oils, patented lubricant additives, industrial lubricants, and fluids for Electric Vehicles.

Covering 12,000 square feet (1,100 square metres), the $7.5 million facility brings Castrol’s automotive and industrial lubricant technology teams under one roof for the first time. The Americas centre will add to Castrol’s network of global technology centres, including in the UK, China, and Germany.

“An amazing showcase of our integrated technology expertise,” is how Andreas Osbar, CEO and President of Castrol Americas, described the centre, adding it would support existing and new customers in the US, Canada, and Latin America.

Rebecca Yates, VP of Advanced Lubricants Products, said, “As we drive the Castrol strategy forward, the new high-tech lab will bring together our applied science technologists from different disciplines to strengthen the innovative technology the Castrol brand is known for.”

Castrol is part of the BP group and services customers and consumers in the automotive, marine, industrial and energy sectors.
