Bestaf Lubricants Limited opens a lubricants blending plant in Nigeria

A Nigerian-based company Bestaf Lubricants Limited has commissioned a new lubricants blending plant in MRS Holdings Limited Terminal in Lagos, Nigeria. The Bestaf lubricant plant is owned by Sayyu Dantata, the founder and Chairman of MRS Holdings Limited.

Speaking at the event, Sayyu Dantata said the plant which has the capacity to produce 1,700 different products, will contribute to foreign exchange generation for the country through product export, as well as meet the needs of other neighbouring countries.

Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari while inaugurating the facility said, “the new Bestaf Lubricant blending plant at MRS Holdings Limited is a testament to the provision of an enabling environment. The 200 million litre lubricant plant, which covers the whole value chain of lubricants and the first of its kind in West Africa, will prevent the importation of sub-standard products, stop capital flight, and contribute to the generation of foreign exchange for the country, through products exported by Bestaf. This plant will go a long way in ensuring that the plants and machinery used in Nigeria have extended life from using high-quality lubricants.”

Apart from the president of Nigeria, the opening of this plant was also graced by the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who said the birth of the facility is as a result of the enabling environment the state has created for businesses. He added that the plant will create youth employment and help grow the Nigerian economy.

The Managing Director of Bestaf Trading Company Andreas Wielsch stated that with the lubricant plant, the company will be able to produce about 50 percent of Nigeria’s annual lubricant consumption.
