Luberef signs MoU with APAR Industries for transformer oil plant construction

Saudi Aramco Base Oil Company Luberef has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with India’s APAR Industries Limited to consider building a Transformer Oil/White Oil plant at the LubeHub in Yanbu, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).

The plant is expected to support the localization of specialty products in KSA. LubeHub is a lubricants value park located at Yanbu, KSA. It is a project of Luberef in coordination with the Yanbu Royal Commission. The hub is located adjacent to Luberef refinery facilities in Yanbu. It has a direct piped supply of Luberef products and infrastructure and utilities provided by the Royal Commission.

Apart from the direct supply of Luberef products, LubeHub enjoys access to fast-growing markets in the Middle East and Africa along with attractive investor incentives, including financing incentives, trade incentives, and employment incentives. The hub also benefits from a world-class Yanbu Ecosystem, which has a global refining hub, a world-scale chemical assets plant, world-class infrastructure & logistics and the future home of the Saudi Aramco-SABIC crude oil-to-chemicals plant.

The investment opportunities in the hub include; finished lubricants, transformer oils, metalworking fluids, white oils, rubber process oils, drilling fluids, and lubricant additives manufacturing facilities. According to its website, APAR Industries is the third-largest transformer oil manufacturer globally. APAR Industries was established in India in 1958, and has expanded to over 100 countries as a manufacturer and supplier of conductors, transmission cables, speciality oils, polymers and lubricants.
