Chevron Oronite introduces OLOA® 54530 additive meeting multiple OEM specifications

Chevron Oronite Company LLC has launched OLOA 54530, a new Mid-SAPS additive package that is compatible with modern after-treatment systems in both diesel and gasoline engines and helps protect against low-speed pre-ignition (LSPI) occurrences.

Teri Crosby, vice-president, Global Technology, Chevron Oronite said, “with a reliable supply, simplified logistics, and solutions that are easily adapted to customer product offerings, we can help customers meet ever-changing automotive engine oil performance needs. OLOA 54530 meets many of the latest industry and OEM specifications, including ACEA C2 / C3, API SP, BMW LL-04, Daimler MB 228.51, MB 229.52, and the new Opel Vauxhall 0401547.”

According to Oronite, OLOA 54530 has been approved for use with a wide range of Group III base oils. Furthermore, OLOA 54530 has been designed to deal with low-speed pre-ignition (LSPI). This is caused by the new and different engines that are being manufactured to provide higher power density and improved efficiency in a bid to meet the demand for improved fuel economy and reduced emissions.

“OLOA 54530 meets the latest, most-demanding OEM requirements by delivering fuel economy benefits; protecting against LSPI, and extending drain intervals,” said Patrice Estoueig, product line manager, Automotive, Europe-Africa-Middle East Region, Chevron Oronite. “Our customers will appreciate these and many other performance benefits it offers, including excellent wear protection, piston cleanliness, sludge reduction, and oxidation control.”
